Communicating in Japanese for a safe and secure workplace
You will learn the "kindness" required to communicate smoothly with foreign personnel from various countries.
This course teaches practical skills in "understandable Japanese" to facilitate daily interactions with foreign personnel whose native language is not Japanese.
Even in situations where it is difficult to communicate in your native language, you can make it easier for foreigners to understand you by using the Japanese you normally use. As the first step to overcoming language barriers and deepening mutual understanding and trust, let's acquire communication skills that anyone can put into practice.

Is that Japanese being properly conveyed?
"Easy Japanese Course" held on August 21, September 11, and October 16
In August, September and October, we will again be holding the "Easy Japanese Course", which was well received in 2024.
Even if you study intercultural understanding, if you cannot communicate effectively through the essential "language," the distance between hearts will not be narrowed. As an example of practicing intercultural understanding, why not try learning "easy Japanese," a type of Japanese that has been designed to be easy for foreigners to understand?
In recent years, the need for easy Japanese in the workplace has been increasing, and last year, a total of over 1,800 people participated. We will update the content of this seminar to reflect the feedback we received from last year's seminar participants.
Recommended for:
- Because of the need for an interpreter, conversations with Japanese employees are limited and relationships cannot be built.
- As the company becomes more international, we are beginning to feel the limitations of multilingual support.
- I try to speak simple Japanese to foreign employees, but I'm worried that they might not be able to understand me.
- Although I speak slowly and the foreign employees say "I understand," the instructions often don't get through to them as I expected.
Comments from 2024 seminar participants
- There were many concrete examples of how to convert text into easy Japanese, which made it easy to understand. I thought I could put it into practice right away.
- I realized that the words I use on a daily basis when speaking to foreign employees who have a beginner's level of Japanese are actually ways of speaking that make it difficult for them to understand.
- I felt relieved to know the reason why I had been having trouble dealing with some issues.
- I enjoyed the chat-based work, which was more than just listening. The answers from other participants were helpful.
- I would definitely like to expand this to my own employees.

Lecturer Introduction

Shiraishi Yoriko
Japanese language teaching qualification holder
I have been involved in Japanese language education since 2010.
I am constantly trying to find ways to help busy foreign workers learn Japanese efficiently. I would like to share with you some of the things I have devised over the years of working with foreign staff.

Tomomi Kawamoto
Japanese language teaching qualification holder
Since 2009, I have been working in the foreign human resources industry, providing support and education to foreign workers. Using my experience of learning languages while working abroad, I strive to provide Japanese language instruction as a way to create an easy-to-work environment for both foreigners and the companies that hire them.
My hobby is hula dancing. I will teach you simple Japanese using not only words but also rich expressions, just like the hand motions of hula.
