Advance your career with the "Qualification Acquisition Incentive System"
Specified Skilled Worker (ii) 50,000 yen will be paid to the host company after the transition
Japan Association for Construction Human Resources established the "Qualification Acquisition Incentive Program" and began accepting applications from October 1, 2025.
This system allows applicants who pass one of the The Specified Skills (ii) Evaluation Exam for Construction Industry, Grade 1 of the National Trade Skill Test & Certification, or single-level skills certification and transition to a Specified Skilled Worker (ii) residence status, and then pay 50,000 yen to the accepting company.
The goal is to support a portion of the costs incurred by companies in training.
From the perspective of fairness, the application will be retroactively applied not only to those who have newly transitioned but also to those who transitioned to the Construction Sector Specified Skilled Worker (ii) residence status on or after April 1, 2019.
The number of candidates taking exams and passing exams has increased, and based on the fact that the original objectives have been largely achieved, we have made changes to the system.
* Until the end of May 2026, if you pass with a The Specified Skills (ii) Evaluation Exam or Grade 1 of the National Trade Skill Test & Certification equivalent score, 100,000 yen will each be paid to the foreign worker and the host company.
Eligible recipients
In cases where [(1) If you pass The Specified Skills (ii) Evaluation Exam for Construction Industry] or [(2) If you pass the Grade 1 of the National Trade Skill Test & Certification or Single-Grade Skills Certification (*) related to construction], after transitioning to the Specified Residence Status (Type 2) in the construction field, the incentive will be paid to the accepting company of the Specified Skilled Worker
At the time the Specified Skilled Worker transitions to a Specified Skilled Worker (ii) residence status, the host company must be employed and must have paid the acceptance fees for all Specified Skilled Worker (i) foreigners to which they belong.
*Construction-related Grade 1 of the National Trade Skill Test & Certification, occupations with a single grade of skill certification

*Shutter installation is not included in the transition requirements to Specified Skilled Worker (ii) at this time

After transitioning to a specific type 2 residence status in the construction sector, the receiving company will receive a payment of 50,000 yen.
Scope of payment
All Specified Skilled Worker who have transitioned to Specified Skilled Worker (ii) are eligible for the benefit.

③ The application details will be confirmed by JAC (Secretariat).
We will check the details of your application, and if there are no problems, we will transfer the money to your designated account from the following month onwards.
If there are any errors in your application, you will be asked to submit the necessary information again to our office.
