Regarding the launch of the compensation system for Specified Skilled Worker (i)
1. Launch of the compensation system for Specified Skilled Worker (i)
Starting January 1, 2024, we will be introducing a new "Compensation System for Specified Skilled Worker (i) specified skilled workers skilled foreign nationals can be employed and work with peace of mind.
This compensation system will benefit specified skilled workers in the form of "further improvements in employee benefits and work environment," and the accepting companies in the form of "employment and retention of highly motivated personnel."
- Only Specified Skilled Worker (i) are eligible for compensation.
- This is "additional compensation" that provides compensation for work-related injuries that are covered by the government-run workers' compensation insurance.
This compensation system will be funded by acceptance fees, so no new financial burden will be incurred by the accepting companies.

2. Expansion of free Japanese language classes
We have expanded our free Japanese language courses so that students can choose from multiple courses based on their needs and level, such as the date and time of the course, and the level of the course. We have also expanded the target participants to include foreigners with "Specified Skilled Worker (i)" status of residence currently working at construction companies, and technical intern trainees who are currently working at the same company and intend to transfer to Specified Skilled Worker (i).

- 1. "Easy Japanese Course" where you can learn according to your level
(Held online on Mondays and Wednesdays) - 2) "Sunday Japanese Language Classes" combining online and face-to-face lessons
(Courses held on Sundays) Face-to-face meetings are held in Osaka and Kyoto - 3) 50-part online Japanese language course aiming for N4 to N2 level
(Course focused on passing the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N4 to N2)
[Target audience]
- Foreign nationals with "Status of Residence: Specified Skilled Worker (i)" working for a company engaged in construction work
- Technical intern trainees who are working for the same company as the foreign nationals listed above and who intend to transition to Specified Skilled Worker (i)
Companies must pay the acceptance contribution for all specified skilled workers employed by them.
When the quota is reached, priority will be given to specified skilled workers, regardless of the order of application.

3. Expansion of the target countries for The Specified Skills (i) Evaluation Exam for Construction Industry
In addition to Indonesia and the Philippines, the overseas The Specified Skills (i) Evaluation Exam for Construction Industry (civil engineering, architecture, lifeline and facilities) will begin in December 2023 in seven countries: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, trials are scheduled to be conducted in two more countries, Myanmar and Nepal, from February 2024. Applications are scheduled to open around the end of January 2024.
If additional countries are added to the test list in the future, we will announce the details on our website.
