Initiation of compensation system for Specified Skilled Worker (i)

From January 1, 2024, we will introduce a new "Compensation System for Specified Skilled Worker (i) in the Construction Field" to create an environment where both the host company and the Specified Skilled Worker can employ and work with peace of mind.
This compensation system provides Specified Skilled Worker with the benefits of "further enhancement of benefits and improvement of work comfort", and "employment and retention of highly motivated human resources" for the host company.

• Only Specified Skilled Worker (i) are eligible for coverage.
• It is a "top-up compensation" that compensates for work-related accidents that are covered by the benefits of worker accident insurance operated by the government.

This compensation system will be funded by acceptance fees, so no new financial burden will be incurred by the accepting companies.

• Foreign nationals with "Status of Residence: Specified Skilled Worker (i)" working for a company engaged in construction work
• Technical Intern Training students who are working for the same company as the foreigner above and are willing to move to Specified Skilled Worker (i)

Businesses must have paid an acceptance levy for all Specified Skilled Worker they belong to.

If the capacity is reached, Specified Skilled Worker will take precedence, regardless of the order of application.

In addition to Indonesia and the Philippines, overseas The Specified Skills (i) Evaluation Exam for Construction Industry (Infrastructure Facilities and equipment) tests began in seven countries from December 2023: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Uzbekistan.
In addition, trials are scheduled to be conducted in two countries, Myanmar and Nepal, from February 2024. Reception is scheduled to start around the end of January 2024.
