  • Able to secure motivated and skilled young people in the medium to long term
  • If you are going to take care of them, you need to raise them well and treat them with kindness.
  • As leaders on the ground and as the core of the company.
Why did you accept Specified Skilled Worker?
Through recruitment and other means, I felt firsthand the decrease in the number of young workers in Japan. When we looked to the future, we felt that foreign workers who would be the strength of the field were essential, so we began to accept them. The three of them first gain experience as Technical Intern Training students, and then acquire Specified Skills qualifications and play an active role.
What benefits have you realized by accepting it?
The key point is that we can secure motivated and skilled young people for the medium to long term. All three of them came to Japan from their home country of Vietnam, and their determination and mindset is different from that of typical young people. Even after gaining experience in various fields, their proactive attitude of trying to learn the job is a good stimulus for other staff members.
What were some of the difficulties you had accepting it?
Before accepting them, I was concerned about whether they would be able to handle the situation in a field that requires rapid response due to the language barrier and communication issues, but with them, such worries were unnecessary. At the field, they communicate with those around them in Japanese and try to communicate with each other, and they work very efficiently and efficiently. To be honest, I have never had any difficulties with them.

Voices of people working on the ground

Here are the voices of three Specified Skilled Worker who are active as kite craftsmen at Sasaki Erection.

All three of them are motivated, and above all, they are good at Japanese. The reason is that the boss talks to me a lot in Japanese. Both technical and language skills meet the company's expectations for us to aim for even greater heights.

I would like to become a leader in the field and get a Specified Skilled Worker (ii) qualification and be even more active!

Mr. Song (27 years old)

Mr. Song is the organizer of other Specified Skilled Worker and Technical Intern Training students. He has been active in large-scale sites such as complex redevelopment in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and is a reliable presence for understanding materials by looking at drawings and fulfilling orders. "In the future, I want to aim to become a foreman and demonstrate further leadership," he said.
Image: Truong (25 years old)
I'm happy to be able to work with my coworkers at the homely Sasaki Construction Company. I love Japanese food, such as sashimi and stewed offal!

Truong (25 years old)

Through his work at Sasaki Erectory, Truong learned "coordinating work processes while communicating" and "the importance of safety awareness." While being involved in the construction of cultural facilities as a kite, he is also a caring senior who is enthusiastic about teaching Technical Intern Training students, and is a craftsman who is highly trusted by those around him.
Image: Tao (25 years old)
I am aiming to further improve myself by watching construction videos and the work of my seniors!

Tao (25 years old)

Tao has accumulated experience at development sites for complex facilities. He says he wants to continue working in various fields, while placing importance on "understanding the work and tasks" and "prioritizing work." He is also enthusiastic about obtaining qualifications for forklifts and aerial work platforms to broaden the scope of his work.

What efforts have been made to accept them and work together with them?

Representative Director
Mr. Morio Suzuki

As long as I take care of them in Japan, I am determined to raise them well, and I literally treat them kindly.

We support you to give about 70 kg of rice a month, go out to buy meat and vegetables together, and interact with other Technical Intern Training students and Japan staff.

Fortunately, all three of them say that Japan is fun and that they want to work in Japan forever, so I am happy about that feeling.

Advice for companies considering accepting foreign workers

Some companies are hesitant to accept them due to concerns about language barriers, but as the number of domestic workers decreases, there will be more opportunities for highly motivated Specified Skilled Worker and Technical Intern Training students to play an active role.

I think it is important to use the system as soon as possible and have Specified Skills people accumulate experience so that they can become a model for Technical Intern Training students.

A warm environment where people can easily discuss their anxieties and worries leads to a sense of security in their daily lives.

What are you looking forward to in the future?

I want the three Specified Skills to be the leaders of the Technical Intern Training students as well as the young people of the Japan. Kite work is a job that requires a wide range of tasks that cannot be learned in a short period of time, from assembling scaffolding to transporting heavy objects and demolition work. Specified Skills can gain experience in the medium to long term That's why I expect them to absorb various things and become people who can bring the field together as a foreman and leader.
