6. Apply for Specified Skilled Worker Acceptance Plan in the construction field certification

The host company must prepare a Specified Skilled Worker Acceptance Plan in the construction field and apply for certification to the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Regardless of whether you hire a foreigner who has passed the exam or a foreigner who is exempt from the exam, you must be certified by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism when you want to sign a new specified skilled worker employment contracts.

The main certification criteria for Specified Skilled Worker Acceptance Plan in the construction field are (1) to (7):

If you are currently residing in Japan Japan and are expected to complete the Technical Intern Training (ii) in good terms, you can apply for Specified Skilled Worker Acceptance Plan in the construction field certification from six months before the expiration date of the period of residence of the "Technical Intern Training", so we recommend that you prepare in a planned manner.   1. The receiving company must be licensed under Article 3 of the Construction Business Law.
  2. Registering the host company and Specified Skilled Worker (i) with the Construction Career Up System
  3. Joining the JAC and complying with the Code of Conduct established by the JAC (see Document 7)
  4. Specified Skilled Worker The amount of remuneration is the same as that of Japan with equivalent skills, stable wage payment (monthly salary system), salary increase according to skill mastery, etc.
  5. Important contractual matters such as wages will be explained in advance in writing (in a language that foreigners can fully understand)
  6. Specified Skilled Worker (i) After acceptance, have them take courses and training designated by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism
  7. Accepting on-site guidance by the government or an appropriate employment supervision Foundation for International Transfer of Skills and Knowledge in Construction (FITS, a foundation) regarding the proper implementation of acceptance plans

This is the key point!

Please note that if there is a change in the items listed in Specified Skilled Worker Acceptance Plan in the construction field, the host company must submit an online application or notification to the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

If there is a change in the information on the certificate → A change application is required

Examples: Address of the host company, representative, number of full-time employees, number of Specified Skilled Worker recipients, etc.

Note: The increase or decrease in the number of Specified Skilled Worker (i) acceptees corresponds to changes in the items stated in the certificate, so it is necessary to apply for the change online.

In case of changes other than those stated on the certificate → Notification is required
