- Q&A 09. What to do after accepting foreign nationals
Q&A
09. What to do after accepting foreign workers
- Please tell me about the procedures after accepting Specified Skilled Worker (i)
-
After accepting Specified Skilled Worker (i), the accepting company must report to the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism using the online "Acceptance Report" within one month in principle.
After that, the accepted Specified Skilled Worker (i) must take a post-acceptance course designated by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. If the foreign worker does not take the course, he/she will be treated as not meeting the certification requirements of the Construction Specified Skills Acceptance Plan.
If you have not submitted a copy of your Construction Career Up Card when applying for certification of your Construction Specified Skills Acceptance Plan, please also submit a copy of your Construction Career Up Card.
In addition, if specified skilled workers you have accepted returns to their home country, changes jobs to another company, or your company goes bankrupt and you are no longer able to continue working for them, you must report this to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism online.
○ Report to: Foreign Work Management System
- What is the "Post-Acceptance Course"?
-
The "Post-Acceptance Training" is to provide information to Type 1 specified skilled workers on the mechanisms for protecting such foreigners, such as mobile guidance and native language consultation hotlines, and to check with the individual to see if there are any double contracts, false applications, etc. If any irregularities are found, strict measures will be taken, such as the cancellation of the certification of the Construction Specified Skills Acceptance Plan.
Companies that have received certification for their construction Specified Skills acceptance plans from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism are required to have specified skilled workers take this course within approximately six months of accepting them.
Foundation for International Transfer of Skills and Knowledge in Construction (FITS), a fair employment supervision organization, will inform the accepting company of the dates, times, locations, etc. of the courses after accepting the Type 1 specified skilled workers, so the accepting company should select the courses that are available to the worker and have them take them.
