Steps to enter and report the Specified Skilled Worker you want to leave.

STEP

After logging in to the Foreign Work Management System, select "Resignation Report" from the menu screen.

See the link for how to log in.

Foreigners who plan to apply for re-employment do not need to submit a resignation report. Please go directly to the re-employment application page to complete the procedure. Please note that if you submit a resignation report by mistake, you will not be able to apply for re-employment.

Click the name of the Specified Skilled Worker you want to report retirement

STEP

Select your retirement date from the calendar

When reporting a resignation, the default "Employment status" will be "Resigned."

The resignation report should be made after the foreign national has actually left the company.
If you enter a future date before your retirement and something happens that causes the date to be off, the Regional Development Bureau will need to make the correction, which will result in a delay in the certification review.

STEP

(Optional) Enter the reason for leaving in "Notes 1"

Example of reason for leaving

To return to one's home country
I am returning to Japan to receive my lump-sum withdrawal payment. I plan to re-enter Japan around month/year.
To change jobs due to ___ reasons
Because my status of residence has changed to ____

STEP

Click on "Start Reporting"

STEP

Click "Yes" on the confirmation screen

STEP

Click Close

STEP

Check the report

Check that the Specified Skilled Worker reporting has a "retirement" status and the date of retirement

STEP

Click "Report Complete"

STEP

Click "Yes" on the confirmation screen to complete your resignation notice.

STEP

The message at the top of the screen will remain visible even after the report is complete.

Return to the menu screen and check that the employment status of the foreigner who made the report in the Specified Skilled Worker (i) list is "Retired".
