[Online/Free] "Easy Japanese Course" for Japanese Employees

Is that Japanese being properly conveyed?

共通語はやさしい日本語

Starting in July 2024, JAC will be holding an "Easy Japanese Course" for Japanese employees as a course to help foreigners coexist with the local community.

As the number of foreigners living in Japan increases and their nationalities become more diverse, why not try communicating in "easy Japanese" rather than translating or interpreting into a foreign language that you are not good at?

What is "Easy Japanese"?

"Easy Japanese" refers to everyday words that are simple enough for foreigners to understand.

During the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995, many foreigners in Japan were unable to take appropriate action because they did not fully understand the Japanese language. As a result, many foreigners suffered damage. Therefore, "Easy Japanese" was created with the aim of quickly conveying accurate information to foreigners who are not familiar with the Japanese language when a disaster occurs.

It would be great if we could communicate in multiple languages that took all foreign employees into consideration, but there are limitations and costs involved. In fact, there are many foreigners who can understand "simple Japanese."

It is important for foreign employees to study Japanese, but if Japanese employees also use easy Japanese to approach them, the training, utilization, and retention of foreign employees will improve dramatically, and they will grow into an important asset to your company.

Recommended for:

  • I can't communicate effectively with foreign employees due to the language barrier.
  • I don't know how to give instructions to my foreign employees.

We welcome the participation of not only members, but also executives and managers, as well as employees who work alongside foreign workers.

All nine courses have now been completed.
If you missed it, be sure to check out the report.
